If you're an ETM instructor looking to broaden your fitness horizons, this module provides an ideal introduction to gym training. It is also an essential step towards becoming a personal trainer. We'll show you how to use your exercise and fitness knowledge in the gym environment and how to devise safe and effective programmes for your customers.

Learn to...

• Plan, teach and evaluate a gym programme
• Deliver gym inductions to individuals and groups
• Demonstrate good personal technique and alignment on a range of CV equipment, fixed resistance machines, free weights and body weight exercises
• Apply basic skills that will enable you to include older adult, disabled, and antenatal and post-natal client groups in your sessions

Pre-Requisites

• Level 2 Anatomy and Physiology theory papers and worksheets
• Experience of using a gym (cardiovascular, fixed and free weights)

Format

• 5 days face-to-face learning plus 1 day assessment (a mixture of theory and practical)

• Practical assessment

Note: You will be required to bring one helper for your assessment
