Cycling is a unique and dynamic movement sport that demands a tremendous amount of core stability to optimize lower body force production and transfer. The repetitive nature of the cycling movement can lead to muscle and mobility imbalances as well as possible overuse injuries. Prepared by the experts at Merrithew™, this workshop is designed to provide an overview of cycling mechanics, discuss the athletic and dynamic needs of cyclists, and teach programming appropriate for improving cycling performance. The training concepts of the CORE™ Athletic Conditioning and Performance Training™ program will be discussed with a focus on meeting the demands of the sport, injury prevention and performance enhancement.
