Getting ready for assessments can be daunting, so we're committed to providing you with all the support you need to make it as easy as possible.

Booking your assessments

To book your practical assessment, or for any questions about assessments, results or certificates:

If you're booking a re-sit or deferred assessment, you'll be asked to pay the full amount at the time of booking.

Changes to an assessment

If you'd like to push back on a part of your assessment, you just need to let us know at least 4 weeks before the start of your course.

If, when booking, your course is only 4 weeks away, you'll need to decide on deferrals when you book. Unfortunately, you won't be able to make any changes to your assessments with less than 4 weeks' notice and if you need to re-book assessments you may have to pay the full fee.

Missing an assessment

If you miss an assessment you may still have to pay full assessment fees. We'll then work with you to find the next available assessment slot at a time that suits you.


Coming to the end of your course and receiving your qualification is a great reward. We have all the support in place to ensure this exciting moment isn't taken away from you.

Receiving your certificate

Your certificate will be emailed to you within a month of completing the course. If you require a hard copy of your YMCAfit certificate:

If your certificate is being delivered from external awarding bodies, this may take up to three months to be posted to you. These certificates are sent via Recorded Delivery so you will need to sign for it.
