Tutor Training (PTLLS)
This course is ideal for instructors wanting to progress into the area of teaching instructor courses. YMCA Tutor Training gives you the skills required to deliver training in the area of fitness. This is a great first step in developing a career in tutoring in the fitness industry.

Learn to…
- Teach VRQs within the health and fitness sector
- Plan, deliver and evaluate an educational session and design relevant course materials
- Identify an effective session structure, to include, the giving of information followed by a learning check where necessary
- Recognise individual learning styles and how these affect learning for individuals and groups
- Use appropriate teaching techniques to cater for a wide variety of learning styles
- Reflect on own teaching experiences and use the learning to improve for the future
- Deliver a range of sessions using a range of teaching methods
Pre-Requisites
- Level 2 Aqua, ETM, Gym or Kids' Instructor
- Teaching experience (recommended)
- Candidates must be qualified in the discipline they are preparing to teach
Format
- 10 days face-to-face spread over approximately 3 months (hours are 10am - 4pm)

- Observation of practical teaching
- Workbook assignments
- Teaching log
Certification
- CYQ Certificate - Level 3 Award in Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS)
