As an instructor you will often meet people who have specific needs and requirements whilst training your clients or teaching classes. You may be working with older adults, ante and postnatal women, people with mental health issues or on exercise referral schemes. By completing one of the following specialist modules, you will have the expertise and confidence to deliver safe and effective sessions for these important client groups.
At some point in your career, whether you are a personal trainer, fitness instructor, Pilates instructor or Yoga teacher, you are likely to find yourself teaching women who are pregnant or who have just had a baby. It is estimated that around 1 in 10 of the UK population has a disability, and yet disabled people are seriously under-represented in fitness and gym facilities. This course has been developed as part of the Inclusive Fitness Initiative (IFI), which aims to make fitness facilities more accessible to disabled people, both in terms of the physical environment and the skills and attitudes of their staff. This course will provide you with confidence and expertise in writing and delivering safe, effective and fun exercise programmes for a range of disabled people.
