Running

Increasing number of PT clients are interested in running – the rise of the mass participation event is clear evidence of this! Learn the key skills to help your clients to improve their performance, their overall fitness, and avoid injury with this comprehensive toolkit.  

Content

  • Fundamentals of sound running technique. This session will cover a variety of technical aspects of individual running styles such as Pose, fore-foot and mid-foot running, and whole body mechanics. It also covers analysis of client technique and drill prescription.
  • Conditioning and programming for runners. This session will cover a variety of training approaches and cross training for performance improvement and injury prevention. It will also look at the variables that need to be considered when designing running programmes for individual clients – one size does not fit all!
  • Drills and approaches. This will equip the participant with a variety of practical approaches to take away and use with clients, including Parluuf, Pyramids and Negatives. Drills designed to improve running efficiency and economy will also be covered.

Prerequisites

  • Level 2 Aqua, ETM, Gym or Kids' Instructor
  • Teaching experience (recommended)

 


 

Format

  • 1 day face-to-face learning (a mixture of theory and practical)

Assessment

  • No formal assessment, however full course participation is required to receive certification
