Advanced Training

The focus of this course is to give you the in-depth knowledge to develop bespoke, varied and effective exercise plans to meet your clients’ specific goals. You will gain a deeper knowledge of anatomy and physiology; learn advanced teaching and programming skills and be able to conduct one-to-one outdoor sessions.

Free Suspension Fitness CPD module

The course also includes the Suspension Fitness module, worth £125, which will equip you to train clients in a more ‘functional’ way through manipulating their bodyweight to produce a suspension-based workout.

Learn to…

  • Apply an understanding of Level 3 Anatomy and Physiology
  • Incorporate different resistance and cardiovascular training methods into an exercise programme
  • Construct and implement short-,medium- and long-term exercise programmes (periodisation)
  • Plan one-to-one sessions in the gym and other environments

Prerequisites

  • Level 2 YMCA Gym Instructor or equivalent


 

Format options

There are two format options available, face-to-face (intensive) or blended learning. Both options will take into account your preferred learning style and you will be taught at a pace you find comfortable. 

Face-to-face learning

  • Intensive: 12 days plus 1 day assessment

Blended learning

Assessment

  • Multiple choice theory paper
  • Practical
  • Case study
  • Verbal assessment

Certification

This course forms part of the Certificate in Personal Training and is not certificated individually.
