We give our staff the freedom to choose their own career path eg, those with management ambition can progress into a cluster personal training manager role, which has been set up to oversee all of the PT business generated by our personal trainers across two different sites.

Ideal candidates

We are looking for instructors who know how to communicate effectively, listen to others, be a problem solver and always give maximum effort. We are seeking people who can develop fantastic rapport with staff and customers alike. Fitness coaches require a Level 2 Gym Instructor qualification. Personal trainers require a Level 3 Certificate in Personal Training. All prospective candidates will be asked to produce certifications if you are invited to an assessment day. We reward our employees for doing a great job, and our training programmes are among the best in the business.

What quality do you look for the most in a fitness instructor?
An outgoing nature is essential. Our instructors need to be friendly, helpful and approachable. It is important to engage with our members by listening and understanding their needs, which will help to develop a relationship of trust. Exhibiting energy, confidence, and the natural ability to motivate people and keep them on track with their goals is also a must.

What advice can you give for a mature level 2 instructor looking to enter the industry?
Age is irrelevant. If you’ve got the right personality and the right attitude to learning then your additional experience will only help you advance further and faster.
