Instructability programme showcased on BBC One

YMCAfit’s innovative Instructability programme was featured in today's edition of BBC One show Saints and Scroungers. The Instructability programme was developed by YMCAfit as a way of training people living with disabilities who want to work in the health and fitness industry.

The TV show follows 25 year-old YMCAfit graduate John Craig. John is blind and because of his disability, was struggling to find work that satisfied his passion for sport and fitness. After many false starts, he eagerly applied to join the Instructability programme which he successfully completed last year. He is now working as a fitness instructor for Virgin Active.

Also featured in the show is an interview with our very own tutor Trevor Clarke, with whom many of you may be familiar.
